CBJ Grip List Awards

Each year, the Climbing Business Journal surveys the favorite climbing hold brands of routesetters around the world ,providing insight into which brands routesetters are finding particularly useful. With a “People’s Choice” category, the Grip List is also a gauge of what shapes and styles the more casual climbers are enjoying. Since the first survey in 2014, the CBJ Grip List has evolved to encompass the favorite holds, fiberglass macros, wood volumes, hangboards and training board systems―for both commercial settings such as gyms and comps as well as homewalls. In 2022, CBJ added a routesetting and homewall app component of the Grip List Awards, to assist head routesetters and garage climbers alike determine how to organize their climbs. Below are the survey results and winning brands throughout the years.
