Favorite Spraywall Apps of Routesetters Since 2022

A spraywall is a densely set climbing wall covered with dozens or even hundreds of holds in all sizes, shapes and directionalities. They are not set with specific problems in mind but rather for climbers to set their own. Unlike standardized training boards, spraywalls typically don’t have a fixed layout; instead, setters “spray” holds across the surface, creating a wide variety of options. Spraywall apps are digital tools built to support climbers and setters’ training on spraywalls. They allow users to document and share problems on these walls by uploading a photo and mapping specific hold sequences digitally. Setters and climbers can record which holds are “on” or “off,” save their creations, and share them with community members and friends.
