About The Rock Club
For 20 years, TRC has been Westchester’s community climbing gym, with ropes, bouldering, and a full youth pathway from first class to competition team. We host USA Climbing Youth and Collegiate Qualifying Events, and our team athletes stay with us for years.
The program: Team Rock competes in USA Climbing events and runs September through June, with a Developmental Squad that feeds into the team. Both are growing, and neither has a roster cap. You’ll have an ops team behind you for scheduling, registration, and family communication.
What you’ll do
- Design year-round training for local, regional, divisional, and national competitions in bouldering, lead, and speed, built around the Board Room
- Build individualized plans for each athlete’s age, goals, and long-term development
- Coach at competitions and manage schedules, registration, and travel
- Mentor assistant coaches and keep practice consistent across all training groups
- Work with gym leadership on program goals, recruitment, and athlete retention
- Keep families informed through parent meetings, evaluations, and seasonal goal-setting
What you bring
- Extensive experience in competitive climbing, including USA Climbing events
- A track record of developing competitive athletes
- Deep knowledge of movement, training methodology, and competition strategy, including board training
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication with athletes, families, and staff
- First Aid/CPR/AED, SafeSport, and USA Climbing Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
Nice to have: experience coaching at the regional, divisional, or national level; experience running a competitive program; a background in youth development, sports psychology, or strength and conditioning; route setting experience.
