
World Climbing is proud to present the 2027 international competition calendar, featuring a global World Climbing Series, a record-breaking Para Climbing season, the World Climbing and Para Climbing Championships in Brno, Czechia, and a number of continental qualification events on the road to the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.
ICONIC DESTINATIONS, HISTORIC LOCATIONS
Next year’s World Climbing Series will travel to some of the world’s largest and most iconic cities, including Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Paris. At the same time, the calendar will retain historic Climbing destinations such as Innsbruck and Chamonix, while also returning to more recent additions to the circuit, including Bern and the Comunidad de Madrid.
The 2027 season will also mark the return of World Climbing competitions to Great Britain for the first time since 2022, with Manchester serving as host.

THE ROAD TO LA28 STARTS HERE
The 20th edition of the World Climbing Championship will be the peak of the 2027 season, taking place in Brno, Czechia, from 13 to 22 August. Brno 2027 will also form part of the qualification pathway to LA28.
The Olympic qualification will begin with the European Games in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 16 to 27 June, followed by the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, from 24 July to 8 August.
Four further continental qualifiers will take place across October and November in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and China.

THE GREATEST PARA CLIMBING SEASON OF ALL TIME
The 2027 Para Climbing calendar will be the most extensive in World Climbing history.
Five World Climbing Para Series events – in Manchester, Innsbruck, Los Angeles, Catania and Toulouse – will join the World Climbing Para Championship in Brno, to create six top-level international Para Climbing events in one season – the most ever.
World Climbing Para Series 2027:
- 2-3 June – Manchester (GBR) – Lead
- 7-8 June – Innsbruck (AUT) – Lead
- 7-12 September – Los Angeles (USA) – Lead
- 2-3 October – Catania (ITA) – Lead
- 29-31 October – Toulouse (FRA) – Lead
This landmark programme comes in the year before Para Climbing makes its Paralympic Games debut. Brno 2027 will give Para climbers in specific sport classes their first opportunity to qualify for LA28.
Para Climbing will also feature at a multi-sport event for the first time, as part of the European Para Championships in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2 to 15 August.
SEASON CLOSES ON ANOTHER HIGH NOTE
The season will conclude in November with another historic first: India will host the World Climbing Youth Championship for the first time, with Jamshedpur welcoming the next generation of climbers from 21 to 28 November.
The event will mark the return of World Climbing competitions to India for the first time since 2016 and 2017, when the Climbing World Cup Series stopped in Navi Mumbai for two consecutive seasons.
