Leif has been a climber for over 25 years and has worked nearly his whole life in the construction trade as a carpenter and electrician. He has always sought to find balance between maintaining high levels of climbing performance as well as the demands and rigors of a full-time skilled labor career. His approach to climbing training stems from the idea that careful planning and rest play as much a factor in how we train as do the exercises and stimulus we subject ourselves to. Using this modality has helped him climb routes as hard as 5.14b while working a full time and physically demanding job. He’s been fortunate to train with some of the leaders in the field over the past few years and continues to grow his knowledge base of training, anatomy, and the climbing athlete.
