Alex Commisso

I’ve held a variety of roles in the climbing industry, including Adventure Coordinator, Routesetter, Climbing Wall Supervisor, and Training Coach. In these positions, I’ve led staff teams, managed scheduling, conducted inspections, and developed climbing programs for new and returning participants. At Illinois State University, I oversaw daily operations of the climbing wall, organized events, and trained new staff. At Upper Limits, I set routes for a range of skill levels and helped run belay workshops. Most recently, I’ve supported employee development and real-time coaching in a leadership role at Backcountry. I bring a strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for creating a safe, engaging gym environment where climbers can grow.
