July 2026 — Peak Performance Polymers (PPP) has spent over three years rigorously testing materials, dedicated to finding a compound that better meets the extreme demands of commercial routesetting and climbing. We have found the answer in GripTech.
This innovative material represents a significant leap forward in durability and performance for PPP-produced holds. As specified by its manufacturer, GripTech is a 77D durometer, two-part rigid polyurethane system for manufacturing tough, durable products that require resistance to impact and abrasion.
After thorough testing of the manufacturing process and the performance of holds in real-life scenarios, Peak Performance Polymers has transitioned to using GripTech for all polyurethane holds. This transition ensures every hold we produce offers superior longevity and resistance to the wear and tear of high-volume climbing environments.
Introducing the Peak Core Color Palette
As part of our transition to GripTech, we are introducing the Peak Core Color Palette for PU production.
Historically, PPP has offered more than 60 colors. While that flexibility has been useful, it has also made it harder to maintain color consistency, reduce waste, and provide reliable turnaround times. Moving forward, our PU offering will center around a carefully selected 13-color Core Color Palette.
These colors were chosen because they are widely used in climbing gyms and offer the strongest crossover with palettes from other domestic and international manufacturers. Our goal is to make ordering easier, improve consistency, and create a more dependable color system for our brand partners and their gym customers.

What We’re Asking of Our Partners
We are asking our brand partners to support this transition by:
- Encouraging new gyms to order within the Core Color Palette
- Submitting future orders using the updated color names and SKUs
Email info@peakperformancepolymers.com to request color samples.
Legacy Colors
We understand that some gyms may still require legacy colors. Many of these colors will remain available by request, but they will fall outside our standard 10-day turnaround depending on material availability and production scheduling.
Thank you for helping us create a cleaner, more consistent, and more reliable color system for the industry.
