of inspiration that the rest of the facility and community revolves around. Our route setters are tasked
with the responsibility of creating motivating, approachable, thought provoking challenges that educate
and strengthen our members and guests.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Reporting to the Director of Setting, working with a small route setting team at world class
climbing and fitness facilities in Sacramento and Davis, CA - 16 – 32 hours per week
- $22 – $26 per hour based on experience
- Eligible for health insurance with significant company contribution toward premiums, provided
an average weekly clock of at least 32 hours for at least 12 weeks - Key position with a rapidly growing company dedicated to employee growth and advancement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Employment history exemplifying the values and culture of The Boulder Field and The Stack
Climbing - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a route setter
- Ability to consistently climb V7 or 5.13 (preferred)
- Highly creative, collaborative, organized, and detail oriented
- A team player with a strong work ethic
- Punctual and reliable
- Able to lift 40+ pounds
- Highly communicative
- Able to seek, give, and receive critiques/feedback in a constructive manner
- Motivated to learn, grow, and adapt to the rapidly changing world of route setting
- Capable of consistently creating routes that inspire and challenge climbers of all abilities, dimensions, skill sets and backgrounds
FUNCTIONS
- Working with the Head Route Setter and fellow Route Setters to create and execute a route
setting strategy - Execute all related functions, including hold and volume inventory management, cleaning,
organizing, and replenishment on a weekly basis - Uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and risk management practices in all
areas of the facility - Clocks in/out in a timely manner and communicates with the Head Route Setter regarding any
Time-off requests, sick days, or tardiness - Uses Performance Review goals to facilitate career development, as directed by Head Route Setter ●
Contributes to team discussions. - Arrives to shifts punctually
- Contributes to all aspects of the day
