Apply Now: Global Climbing Initiative Fall 2026 Community Grants

global climbing initiative

The Global Climbing Initiative’s Community Grants provide funding for locally led climbing organizations outside the continental United States (or Indigenous communities in the U.S.) to carry out projects that can be completed within 6 months and reflect local priorities in 3 areas:

  • Environmental Grants (up to $1,000) support stewardship and sustainable climbing practices.
  • Social Impact Grants (up to $1,000) support increased access to climbing and leadership opportunities for underrepresented groups.
  • Economic Development Grants (up to $2,000) support local economic opportunities connected to climbing.

The Community Grants support projects that serve historically underrepresented communities and are proposed by organizations with limited access to funding and industry resources.

The Initial Application (due July 24) is the first step in a 2-step process. All applicants will receive an update on August 3, and select organizations will be invited to submit a full Project Proposal, due August 28.
