June 18, 2026 — This week, the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and U.S. Forest Service released draft climbing management guidance which stands to shape America’s climbing.
Today, we’re asking climbers to make their voices heard. Access Fund generally supports the draft guidance and encourages climbers to submit comments supporting the overall direction of the proposals while recommending technical revisions and clarifications to ensure the policies are practical, effective, and workable on the ground.
Learn more about our recommendations and submit your comments using our easy letter-writing tool.
TAKE ACTION
Strong participation from climbers during the public comment period will help ensure the final guidance protects climbing access, allows for the maintenance of existing routes, supports appropriate wilderness exploration, and maintains wilderness intengrity.
Thank you for helping protect the future of America’s climbing.
