BOULDER, Colo. – Today, Access Fund announced the return of its Member Gym program, which was paused during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new slate of member gyms covers every corner of the nation, bringing together small gyms and multi-facility chains to support Access Fund’s mission of protecting and conserving the land, fighting for sustainable access, and building a community of inspired advocates.

“The future of climbing depends on all of us working together,” says Access Fund director of philanthropy Heather Distad. “We’re thrilled to partner with these gyms in the work to prepare the next generation for climbing responsibly outside. By supporting national climbing advocacy, conservation, innovative indoor-to-outdoor education programs, local stewardship opportunities, and programmatic efforts that promote sustainable climbing access, they’re creating a better future for our entire climbing community.”

Access Fund Member Gyms help prepare the next generation to climb responsibly in the outdoors. They support national climbing advocacy, innovative indoor-to-outdoor education programs, local stewardship opportunities, and programmatic efforts that support sustainable climbing access. Gym partnerships start at $100 per year through a joint Access Fund/Climbing Wall Association Dual Membership program. A full list of Member Gym benefits can be found on the Access Fund website.

“Gym owners and managers know that community is a key part of their success,” continues Distad. “Climbing gyms are where we connect with fellow climbers, refine our technique, and deepen our love for the sport, which is why it’s so critical that these gyms are helping to define what it means to be a responsible outdoor climber.”
