USA Climbing is thrilled to announce that Idaho will host the 2023 Yeti Climbing National Championships, October 11-15. The Lead and Speed events will be held October 11-13 at Vertical View while the Boulder events will be held October 14-15 at Asana Climbing Gym. Both facilities are located just outside of Boise, ID.
This will be the third year in which the separate elite championships for Bouldering, Lead and Speed are being combined into one single championship event, crowning six national champions. This event will bring America’s best competition climbers together, including Olympic and National Team members, and serve as the last domestic competition prior to the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Given the size of this championship event, the three disciplines will be divided amongst the two host facilities to offer the world class competitors the very best that Idaho has to offer.
“Asana Climbing Gym is honored to host the upcoming bouldering portion of the YETI National Championships,” said Asana’s Gym Director and Head Routesetter, Brannon Frank. “Competitions embody our commitment to growth through challenge. With Nationals being the largest and most esteemed competition hosted in Boise, we are eager to share this occasion with our community. We hope it inspires everyone involved, while also showcasing the essence of Asana and the vibrant spirit of our city.”
“Welcoming the very best USA competition climbers to Idaho is a dream come true for us here at Vertical View! We are thrilled to be co-hosting the 2023 USAC National Championships with Asana Climbing Gym,” Mentioned Vertical View Programs Director, Kevin Bradford. “What a tremendous opportunity to showcase and share the sport of climbing in such a spectacular way. Come and be a part of this historic event as we welcome these incredible athletes, their families and their coaches to Idaho!”
USA Climbing is planning to livestream the semi-finals and finals of each discipline on USA Climbing’s YouTube channel and broadcast highlights following the conclusion of this year’s events. Programming details along with more details regarding the event schedule and hotel block will be shared closer to the event.
