The Inaugural 10 Barrel Boulder Brawl
Invitation – only Bouldering Competition returns to Bend, OR
Bend, OR — August 23, 2021 — EP Climbing Walls, in conjunction with Bend Endurance Academy, Backyard Bend, and Elevation Climbing Holds announces that 10 Barrel Brewing Company will be hosting a bouldering competition at its Eastside Bend location on September 18, 2021. Athletes will be competing for their share of a $20,000 prize purse, and the event will feature climbers from around the country, including multiple National Champions, and most notably, 2 Olympians and an American Ninja Warrior Champion. “10 Barrel Brewing is super stoked to be hosting the Boulder Brawl this year and excited for the community to come out and crush some beers while watching world class athletes crush the wall,” said Jordan Egger, Events Manager at 10 Barrel Brewing Company.
“These athletes are elite – level competitors, and with their vast amount of experience on the national and international stage, they are showing the local climbing community what’s possible,” said Mike Rougeux, Executive Director at the Bend Endurance Academy and USA Climbing Youth Team National Coach.
With the recent debut of Sport Climbing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, many anticipate that this will drive interest in climbing competitions higher and higher. EP Climbing, who provided the climbing wall Field of Play in Tokyo, is excited at the possibilities.
