Programs Coordinator – East Tennessee Facilities
(Downtown Chattanooga, Riverside, Cleveland)
Position Type: Salaried, Full-Time
Compensation: $38,000 – $46,000 (DOE)
Reports To: General Manager (with collaboration across Coaching, Routesetting, and Marketing teams)
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
POSITION OVERVIEW
High Point Climbing and Fitness is seeking a motivated, highly organized, and community-driven Programs Coordinator to lead and grow programming across our East Tennessee facilities. This role plays a critical part in the success of High Point’s youth and adult programs, events, leagues, and community engagement initiatives.
The Programs Coordinator is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving a wide range of offerings—including camps, classes, clinics, competitions, leagues, birthday parties, team-building events, and special programming—while also contributing to marketing, outreach, and facility operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs, Events & Leagues
- Develop, implement, and manage all programming curriculum and scheduling, including:
- Youth and adult climbing classes & clinics
- Youth camps (serving as Head Camp Counselor when applicable)
- Youth leagues and adult leagues
- Competitions, yoga, and community events
- Strategically develop and oversee progressive climbing class offerings
- Manage and grow the Interscholastic Climbing League (ICL / High School Climbing League), including:
- Coordination with schools
- Scheduling and promotion
- Event execution
- Ensure all programs are well-organized, properly staffed, and executed to a high standard
- Track participation, revenue, and performance metrics for all programs and report insights to leadership
- Collaborate with coaching staff to support Clubs and Teams programming as needed
Marketing, Outreach & Promotion
- Coordinate with the General Manager and Marketing Coordinator to promote all programs and events
- Assist with in-house and digital marketing efforts related to programming
- Contribute to facility social media accounts
- Promote programs, events, and community initiatives consistently and professionally
- Represent High Point at a minimum number of community outreach and tabling events each year, including:
- Local festivals
- School events
- Races, expos, and community gatherings
- Set up and staff outreach booths and actively promote memberships, youth programs, and upcoming events
Corporate Membership Outreach
- Proactively promote High Point corporate memberships to a minimum number of large companies each year
- Coordinate outreach efforts, presentations, and follow-ups with local businesses
- Work with management to track corporate leads, conversions, and partnerships
Operations & Facility Support
- Support day-to-day facility operations as needed, including supervisory coverage
- Assist with front desk shifts when necessary to support staffing efficiency
- Support front desk staff with all programming-related questions
- Collaborate with route setting and operations teams to ensure programs align with facility flow and scheduling
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Assist with hiring, training, and ongoing staff development related to programs
- Work closely with the General Manager, coaching staff, route setting team, and front desk staff
- Provide flexible, cross-department support to ensure smooth facility operations
- Additional duties may be assigned based on ability, experience, and industry background
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Strong work ethic with a consistently positive attitude
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Administrative excellence: highly organized, motivated, goal-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a constantly evolving environment
- Experience in staff management, youth programming, and/or event coordination preferred
- Friendly, outgoing personality; comfortable working with large groups and children
- Self-motivated, dependable, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
- Comfortable representing High Point in public-facing, community settings
- Willingness to step into operational roles as needed
- Climbing gym or fitness industry experience preferred
REQUIRED & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of climbing-specific instruction experience for both children and adults preferred
- Experience with Rock Gym Pro preferred
