Ascent Studio is looking for front-of-house staff to join the crew of welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly faces at the front desk that guide customer experiences, help climbers of all skill levels manage risk, and foster the community that we are privileged to host. If you have a passion for indoor rock climbing, enthusiasm for connecting with customers and collaborating with coworkers, and a background in climbing and customer service, this position may be a good fit for you. We’re looking for candidates who are attentive, organized, friendly, and assertive with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
The desired start date is mid-to-late April.

Compensation:
- $16.50 starting rate bumps to $17.25 after an initial probationary/training period – typically 90days
- Part-time hourly position
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate customer check-Ins, sales, and bookings using our gym management software
- Communicate and enforce expectations and policies for managing risk
- Offer high quality customer service
- Monitor the climbing floor and perform belay tests and orientations
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to guests, including basic climbing instruction
- Develop professional and familiar rapport with customers
- Maintain knowledge of Ascent Studio offerings and pricing
- Maintain a knowledge base of climbing gear and best practices
- Proactively observe the facility; scanning for areas of concern
- Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness and order
- Develop and maintain knowledge of one and two person rescues for indoor climbing situations
- Be the face of Ascent Studio
- Work directly with Desk Supervisors to ensure front-of-house operations run smoothly
- Model proper safety habits, community etiquette, and positive attitude
- Act as a good ambassador for the business, the community, and the sport.
- Create relationships with customers, and help form bonds within the climbing community.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as may arise from time to time and be assigned to the employee.
Qualifications:
- Weeknight and some weekend availability is required.
- Must be proficient with technical climbing skills including but not limited to top rope and lead belaying, knot tying, harness usage, and rope management.
- Must be able to guide and interact with customers on a professional level.
- Must be reliable regarding schedule and responsibilities.
- Must be eligible per Colorado Labor Law to work more than 8 hours in a given 24 hour period
Preferences:
- Customer service experience in a climbing setting
- Instructional experience with youth and/or large groups
- Experience with Rock Gym Pro (RGP)
- Experience in sales, marketing, or customer service
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification
- Climbing Wall Instructor certification
