Position Summary
Elevate Climbing Walls is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Draftsperson to support the design, manufacturing, and installation team in Kent, Washington. In this role, you will interpret ideas into buildable climbing wall designs—from initial concepts and client presentations to detailed shop drawings and CNC production files. At Elevate Climbing Walls, we design and build world-class climbing facilities, High end residential projects, military & government installations, and community spaces, across the United States. Working closely with our sales team, project managers, fabrication shop, field installers, architects, engineers, and clients, you’ll help guide projects from concept through installation, creating unique climbing facilities across North America. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who enjoys turning ideas into reality, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and thrives in a collaborative environment. An interest in rock climbing is a plus but not required.
Primary Responsibilities
· Develop conceptual layouts, 3D models, renderings, and client presentations.
· Create detailed fabrication and shop drawings.
· Generate CNC machining files for production.
· Assist with project estimating and preconstruction planning.
· Travel as needed for project site visits to verify dimensions & conditions, client meetings, and project support
· Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams during production.
· Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and general contractors.
· Review construction documents and architectural drawings.
· Help solve design and construction challenges throughout each project.
Qualifications
Required
· Strong proficiency with CAD software.
· Experience creating CNC toolpaths and manufacturing files.
· Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar 3DCAD software.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Willingness to travel as needed.
· Valid driver’s license.
Preferred
· Knowledge of woodworking, fabrication, or construction methods.
· Familiarity with structural framing, fasteners, hardware, and construction materials.
· Experience working with architects, engineers, or commercial construction teams.
· Rock climbing experience or familiarity with the climbing industry is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to visit active construction sites.
· Ability to occasionally lift up-to 50 pounds.
· Comfortable climbing ladders, scaffolding, or elevated work platforms during inspections.
· Ability to travel for several days at a time when required.
Compensation
Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
