Futurist Climbing Consultants Appoints Joe Zentmyer as CEO

TAOS, N.M. (April 10, 2026) — Futurist Climbing Consultants announced today that Joe Zentmyer has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Zentmyer adds deep expertise in small-business coaching, strategic planning, climbing-gym finance, facility launches, multi-location growth strategy, and operations management.

Zentmyer’s experience includes:

  • Co-founded First Ascent Climbing & Fitness, a Chicago-based company, leading business development, operations, and finance
  • Launched seven commercial climbing gyms across multiple markets (over 200,000 square feet of climbing gyms)
  • 15 years of Fortune 500 management experience in roles of increasing responsibility

With Zentmyer’s appointment, co-founding principal Timy Fairfield will continue as president, creative director, and spokesperson. Co-founding principal Brandi Proffitt will continue as vice president, data analyst, and business manager.
