Capitan, the CRM for climbing gyms, today announced Capitan Launch, a program to help those opening their first climbing gym. This initiative is a major move for Capitan on its mission to help new climbing gyms increase customer conversion, accelerate memberships and streamline operations from when they begin, to presales, to when they are fully operating.

Capitan Launch includes a 20% discount on subscription costs for the first year of an organization’s annual plan. The program also comes with the benefits Capitan customers already enjoy, like features tailored to make presales easy and networking roundtables to learn and collaborate with some of the world’s leading climbing gyms. “Opening a gym is hard enough and when making so many large investments upfront, it can be tempting for new gyms to cut corners where they think they can, which sometimes includes their CRM. We don’t want money to get in the way of new gyms making the right choice for their organization to set themselves up for future success” said Capitan Cofounder & CEO Mary Cornfield.

Basin Climbing and Fitness is opening later this year in Texas and selected Capitan as their CRM. Jess Colley, Basin’s General Manager and Co-Founder, said this of their decision to go with Capitan: “We chose to go with Capitan, because it had a feature that met every need we could think of. It’s clear that Capitan has really listened to its clients, has genuinely gotten to know what a climbing gym needs from a CRM, and has developed and adjusted its software to meet and exceed those needs. The continuing development of Capitan through roundtable discussions and frequently released updates is just the cherry on top of an already robust tool.”

Capitan Launch is also available to gyms that already have opened their doors, but have been operating for less than one year. “A lot of new gyms we work with found they picked a CRM that doesn’t really deliver what they need. It can be hard to know what you need to run your business before even opening. Our goal of expanding Capitan Launch to gyms that have already opened is to quickly get gyms onto a platform that helps them build a solid foundation to grow their business,” said Cornfield.

For example, Evolution Boulders in Virginia opened in July, but by September they knew the CRM they had selected did not fit their needs. Corey Porter, co-owner of the gym, shared the following: “Capitan’s customer service and willingness to be by our side sold us. It relieves a lot of stress knowing that Capitan is right there when we need their assistance. There were features we didn’t think to look for or ask about when selecting a CRM, and once we opened we realized our original CRM didn’t offer the flexibility we needed. Capitan, in contrast, lets us operate exactly how we want.”

If you think you are a good fit for Capitan Launch, you can schedule an intro call here or email launch@hellocapitan.com with additional questions.

To be eligible for Capitan Launch you must meet the following criteria: It is the first gym within your organization (expansion gyms are not eligible for Capitan Launch) and you are not yet open or have not been open for more than 12 months. Discounts only apply to annual plans for an organization’s first year of service with Capitan.
