Brooklyn, New York — MetroRock Williamsburg, located just off the Marcy J train, is the newest, state of the art rock climbing facility to join the climbing community in New York City. While the Williamsburg location is new to the city, MetroRock has been in Brooklyn since 2018 and opened its doors in Boston originally in 2004.
The newest addition to the MetroRock family is a bouldering gym on South 4th and Marcy
Avenue. In addition to 10,000 square feet of climbing, the facility offers kid friendly dlimbing areas, a Kilterboard—a standardized wall you’ll find at many climbing gyms, a fitness area, a gear shop with everything you’ll need to climb, and a space to work and lounge between climbs.
Climbing is for everyone! Beginners are welcome to come try climbing for the first time. The gym will provide you with rental climbing shoes and chalk followed by a safety orientation. For frequent climbers, MetroRock Williamsburg’s membership comes with perks: access to all MetroRock facilities across the country, free yoga and fitness classes, discounts on climbing classes, and discounts in the gear shop.
MetroRock Williamsburg also offers Community Climbing Days for people to build relationships and provide accessible climbing to everyone!
- Wednesdays | Women Crush Wednesdays for self-identifying women
- Thursdays | Queers4Climbing for members of the LGBTQIA+ community
- Fridays | Education Days for students and educators
On these days, members of each community are eligible for half off their day pass + rental gear.
