Athlete Tests Positive for COVID-19 at IFSC World Cups in Salt Lake City

IFSC Official Statement

The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) and USA Climbing inform that one athlete tested positive for COVID-19 out of the over 150 tests that were run on Monday, 24 May.

As soon as IFSC Technical Delegate Graeme Alderson was notified, he implemented the Addendum to IFSC Rules: Response protocol in case of positivity, and Decision process in case of positivity.

The IFSC and USA Climbing, in cooperation with the Utah State authorities, are currently working to address the issue and protect the health of athletes, team officials, IFSC and USA Climbing officials and staff members, and all the parties involved.

Further communications will follow in due time.
