We’re looking for someone who genuinely likes people and cares about climbing. Not just someone to check people in — someone who wants to be part of what makes Grip a good place to be.
This is our highest-hour part-time position. You’ll meet more of our members and day pass visitors than almost anyone else on the team. The way you welcome a first-timer, the name you remember, the quick conversation on the floor — that’s what keeps people coming back.
Grip is growing, and we’re hiring with that in mind. For the right person this role has a real path to a full-time leadership position down the road. If you’re looking to build something in the climbing industry rather than just pick up shifts, we’d like to talk.

Our members are regulars, our youth team competes and does well, and our events are something people actually look forward to. The person in this role is a big part of why that works.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Welcome members and visitors and get to know them by name when you can
- Handle check-ins, waivers, day pass sales, and membership sign-ups in Redpoint HQ
- Show new climbers around and make them feel comfortable before they’ve touched the wall
- Answer questions about memberships, programming, and events honestly and helpfully
- Take care of retail sales and keep that area organized
- Help with social media — photos and short videos of what’s happening at Grip
- Help set up and run community events and competitions
- Keep the gym clean throughout your shift — bathrooms, floors, common areas
- Speak up if you see something that could be better
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The basics
- You genuinely like people and it shows
- You care about climbing and the outdoor community
- You show up on time and ready to work
- You communicate clearly with members, staff, and management
What helps
- Experience in a customer-facing job where relationships mattered
- Familiarity with climbing gyms or fitness facilities
- Experience helping with community events
- Interest in growing into a leadership role over time
- Already part of the Grand Junction climbing or outdoor community
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $18–$20/hour depending on experience
