With three levels of braking, it has a cam that activates when the climber falls, reducing impact on the belayer. The OHMEGA also has an integrated pulley that is designed to keep the friction generated at the first bolt lower than when using a quickdraw, so that climbers don’t feel encumbered. EP CLIMBING

EP Climbing recently began offering eucalyptus wall panels to expand the options of sustainable materials for new climbing facilities. In response to the 2022 European sanctions that hit Russian and Belarusian timber, their R&D team spent several years developing eucalyptus panels that would match birch’s performance while supporting responsible forestry practices. The result meets rigorous testing standards (EN 12572-1/2/3), carries FSC® certification, and has equivalent performance to other EP walls, from traction and impact resistance to structural and dimensional stability.

GRIPTONITE

Griptonite has introduced Smart Targets, an enhancement that is included in their Route Manager platform to help routesetting teams set and achieve goals. Users can set goals of how many routes of each grade they would like in a given zone, rope type (lead, auto belay, top rope) or sector, and then they can analyze how well the team hit those goals. Pricing begins at €85/mo billed annually.
