Movement Lincoln Park
Chicago, Illinois
Specs: Movement Lincoln Park, the second new Movement gym to open in Chicago this year (after Movement Wrigleyville), officially opened its doors on November 6th. The 41,000-square-foot, bouldering and roped climbing facility includes walls ranging from 15 to 55 feet, a soundproof yoga studio, several lounge areas, and a gear shop.
Additionally, Movement Lincoln Park has a floor dedicated to cardio and weightlifting equipment, further complimenting the “active urban lifestyle” that a press release noted the area has become a destination for. Introductory and advanced classes, from private coaching to group fitness, will also be offered at the gym―which marks Movement’s 6th location and the 19th in the El Cap family of gyms.
Developed by Structured Development, a Chicago-based real estate company, Movement’s latest gym is located near several restaurants and shops in the area. According to Mike Drew, Structured’s co-founding principle, “Such recreational offerings add to the desirability of the neighborhood and its future as a 24-hour community of work, live, and play.”
