Youth Programs Director
Recreational and Competitive Climbing Programs (Youth Programs)
The Rock Club’s Youth Programs Director (YPD) plays a key role in the success of our recreational and competitive youth programming. In this position, you will oversee the development, instruction, and daily operations of our Youth Programs, while helping guide climbers from recreational participation into our competitive pipeline.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader who thrives working with youth, builds strong teams, and is passionate about climbing instruction and athlete development. A drive to create, build, and execute new Youth Programming is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of youth programming, including operations, administration, and management
- Hire and train Youth Program instructors, camp instructors, and coaches
- Work alongside TRC management to improve and expand upon current offerings
Recreational Programming
- Manage Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) to oversee day-to-day operations of Youth Programs at The Rock Club (TRC) and foster a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative team culture
- Develop lesson plans, curriculum, and activities for Youth Programs and camps
- Coordinate seasonal registration and regular communications to families
- Serve as a primary point of contact for questions and communication between staff, parents and climbers
Competitive Programming
- Lead the development and operation of our pre-competitive and competitive climbing programs as a coach
- Hire, train, and supervise instructor and coaching staff
- Develop lesson plans and athlete progression pathways preparing advanced climbers for the competitive team
- Serve as coach for the pre-competitive and competitive programs
- Support and coach athletes at USAC competitions

Qualifications
- 2+ years of management supervision experience
- 3+ years of coaching experience, USAC L1 or higher certification preferred
- Familiarity with competitive climbing and USAC competitions
- Lead certified
- Experience working with youth programs or camps
- Familiarity with competitive climbing and USAC competitions
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary range $50-$55k with opportunity for annual compensation increase and bonus possibilities based on program growth and retention
