Job Title: Part-Time Routesetter

Position Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week)

Position Overview
We’re seeking a motivated and creative Part-Time Routesetter to join our setting team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about climbing movement, design, and community impact. The routesetter will work closely with the Head Routesetter and gym management to deliver high-quality boulders and sport routes that challenge, inspire, and support skill progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and forerun boulders and/or top-rope/lead routes across a variety of grades
- Collaborate with the setting team to maintain a balanced and creative grade distribution
- Strip, wash, and maintain holds and volumes
- Inspect and maintain wall surfaces and hardware for safety
- Follow all safety standards and gym setting protocols
- Participate in route preview nights, member events, and competitions as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized setting area
Qualifications
Required:
- Prior routesetting experience (gym or competition setting preferred)
- Strong understanding of movement across multiple climbing styles
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at height using ladders or lifts
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Ability to forerun up to v5 and 5.11
Preferred:
- Experience setting for youth programs or competitions
- USAC setting experience (if applicable)
- Basic woodworking or hold maintenance skills
