Head Counselor – Summer Camps
We are currently accepting applications for a Summer Camp Head Counselor for our weekly summer camps. The Head Counselor’s role includes overseeing campers and camp staff, following daily schedules and curriculum, and providing exceptional customer service to participants and parents.
This role is a seasonal position that will be working 30-40 hours per week. This position begins May 18th, 2026 and will terminate August 14th, 2026. The summer camp head counselor reports directly to the Programs Director.
Job Requirements:
- Previous coaching experience.
- Previous management or group leadership experience.
- Must have at least 2 years of climbing experience.
- Knowledge about bouldering and roped climbing, including technique, terminology, gym etiquette, and safety.
- Must be enthusiastic about working with children and can create a fun and exciting environment for campers.
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR or WFR/WFA is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Programs Director to design and run an enriching camp curriculum.
- Be the main contact for families, camp staff, and management.
- Ensure setup and breakdown of camp is completed each day
- Be in attendance for every camp session, and communicate scheduling needs in a timely manner.
- Gain awareness of participants’ skill levels and needs and adjust lessons accordingly
- Enforce G1 policies in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner
- Maintain the safety of campers at all times.
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by facility management
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $19-$21/hour, commensurate with experience.. Additional benefits include a complimentary gym membership, gym trades, and access to industry pro deals.

Head Counselor – Summer Camps
We are currently accepting applications for a Summer Camp Head Counselor to oversee both counselors and campers involved in our weekly summer camps. The Head Counselor’s role includes overseeing campers and camp staff, following daily schedules and curriculum, and providing exceptional customer service to participants and parents.
This role is a seasonal position that will be working 30-40 hours per week. This position begins May 22nd, 2025 and will terminate August 18th, 2025. There will be one week (June 30th – July 5th) with no summer camps. The summer camp head counselor reports directly to the Programs Director.
Job Requirements:
- Previous coaching experience
- Previous management experience or group leadership (specifically with children)
- Must have at least 2 years of personal climbing experience
- Knowledge about bouldering, top rope and lead climbing, climbing technique, terminology, and gym etiquette and safety
- Have parent interaction before and after camp
- Ensure setup and breakdown of camp is completed each day
Additional Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastic about working with children and can create a fun and exciting environment for campers to explore the vertical world of climbing
- Work with the Programs Director to design an enriching summer camp curriculum
- Schedule counselors for shifts, and be the first supervisor to address counselor’s scheduling needs
- Be in attendance for every summer camp session
- Lead and engage campers in the climbing lesson of the day
- Gain awareness of participants’ skill levels and needs and adjust lessons accordingly
- Enforce G1 policies in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by facility management
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR or WFR/WFA is preferred but not required
Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The pay range for this position is $20/hour. Additional benefits include a complimentary gym membership, both to G1 as well as other front range facilities, and access to industry pro deals.
