Facility Manager
Facility Managers lead staff by example by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring an organized climbing experience for members and new customers alike. This position oversees the smooth operation of the gym, and ensures staff and customers are educated on gym policies, programs, gym safety. They always uphold the mission of Latitude, which is to build climbers!
- Team Schedule
- In conjunction with the GM update scheduling templates to accurately reflect traffic flow seasonally
- Update the schedule in Homebase to reflect daily needs based on scheduled events and classes
- Maintain up to date Redpoint HQ Calendar staffing for instructor based events/ classes
- Responsible for finding coverage or covering a shift in the event of an employee calling out and not previously getting coverage.
- Staff management

- General oversight of staff, training gaps, and communication for facility specific issues and happenings.
- In conjunction with the CCO, provide corrective action/disciplinary action when necessary.
- In conjunction with the GM review staff shift reports weekly ensuring all needs and concerns are addressed in a timely manner
- Staff morale management
- Maintain star cards to regularly acknowledge staff going above and beyond
- Keep a pulse on staff morale and report upward any concerns.
- Inventory oversight for their respective gym
- Including but not limited to food, drink, cleaning supplies, and retail items. Organize your ordering schedule so items arrive BEFORE they run out.
- Creating a plan for counts to ensure full inventory completed every two weeks
- Tracking order needed for perishables, hardgoods, and softgoods. Audit regularly
- Facility management and maintenance oversight:
- Following up on and being the point person for all facility issues within their gym. Communicating concerns with the proper people and escalating what needs to be to higher management.
- Notify and schedule contractors if necessary.
- Create and follow a schedule for all preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Maintain a clean facility in good working order
- Post updated gym event flyers in high traffic areas.
- Member relations
- Growing the Latitude community by promoting safe, healthy, and orderly habits. Maintaining the best possible climbing techniques for themselves and others in the gym.
- Use Google Forms etc to collect member feedback
- Use Canva to update flyers/maintain educational media
- Drive membership sales through outreach and day pass conversions
- Weekly phone calls to group events to ensure proper head counts and communication prior to the day of the event
- Emergency Management
- Making sure that the injury report was filled out correctly, the footage for the incident was pulled, and following up with staff as needed.
- Collaborate with CCO to ensure staff are fully trained with emergency management procedures
- Communications:
- Regularly communicate with the director of each department to ensure smooth and consistent work flow
- Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Manager on shift lead meeting topics for the staff of their gym
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while consistently following directives and complying with all established Latitude policies and procedures. The position requires adherence to a standard 40-hour workweek and must be available to work on a rotating schedule that includes morning, evening, and weekend shifts, as operational needs dictate. Occasional overtime may be required based on covering shifts, events, or other times as directed by the General Manager. It is expected that overtime will be minimal.
