What You’ll Do
As the Assistant Gym Manager, you’ll play a critical role in leading daily operations and supporting staff development. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for our members and a thriving environment for our team. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring top-tier customer service and a clean, safe facility
- Leading by example in desk operations, hospitality, and problem-solving
- Supervising staff schedules and productivity, with ongoing coaching and feedback
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training initiatives
- Handling escalated customer concerns and enforcing gym policies
- Monitoring retail and front desk operations to ensure transaction accuracy
- Identifying and resolving maintenance and cleanliness issues
- Partnering with leadership on staff reviews, operational planning, and improvements
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in customer service or supervisory roles
- Excellent multitasking, time management, and planning skills
- Confident with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); Rock Gym Pro experience is a plus
- CPR/First Aid and Utah Alcohol certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- A passion for climbing, fitness, and community programming
- Strong conflict resolution, communication, and leadership abilities
- Keen attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and facility care
- Enthusiasm for building community and supporting team growth
