Houston-based inSPIRE Rock has just announced plans to open two new facilities in Texas. Their second location will be in Cypress, a suburb in northeast Houston, Texas and feature 24,000 square feet of climbing surface.
Their third location will be in San Antonio and will be the largest of inSPIRE’s gyms with 25,000 – 30,000 square feet of climbing.
“We’ve had a fantastic experience over the past 3.5 years at our first location and are excited to repeat our successes and utilize the lessons we’ve learned to design new facilities for additional communities,” said Paul Short, Owner at inSPIRE Rock.
“Our future locations are being engineered to cater to all skill levels. We’ll be able to support the first-time
beginner, all the way to your most seasoned advanced climber. Incorporated in our designs will be auto belays, top rope, lead, crack areas and dedicated youth and team training areas. We’ve even created an area we call the School room with walls specifically designed for instructing beginning climbing technique, proper belay and lead climbing skills.”
Co-Owner, Bryan Robins stated, “Community is such an important part of the climbing experience. As we explored potential locations for expansion, Cypress stood out as an obvious next location based on the large population of active families and active community participation. The San Antonio climbing community is one of the most dedicated I’ve ever seen. Due to lack of local facilities, they often travel hours away for a gym workout and typically a bit longer to get on real rock. We are extremely excited to be providing facilities to support and expand the communities in these areas.”
Inspire has put together a rock star team to help with these projects. They’ve partnered with Walltopia for wall design and construction and Method Studios out of SLC for building design and architecture. “Method Studios and Walltopia have been amazing in expanding our visions to make the facilities even better,” said Short. “We look forward to the continued partnership as these locations begin construction and as we evaluate additional projects.”
The Cypress location is expected to open doors spring 2018.
Land has just been secured for San Antonio and the design process is underway. The expected opening is towards the end of 2018.
