Gnarly Nutrition Releases New Video Series

“Fuel for Life” illuminates underlying values & human stories behind our favorite outdoor sports.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Gnarly Nutrition is excited to share “Fuel for Life,” the first brand video series from the sports nutrition company. The “Fuel for Life” series consists of 5-7 minute videos that explore personal contemplations and individual motivations of four endurance athletes. By pulling back the curtain on these athletes’ athletic pursuits, the videos illuminate the underlying values and human stories behind our favorite sports.

Because of the content’s intimacy, Gnarly Nutrition contracted four different film crews already familiar with the athletes to create each video, rather than one film crew to produce the entire series. Through this approach, each athlete could be most comfortable when giving pre-production and on-camera interviews and planning the story, allowing for the most authentic content possible. The films will be released throughout the month of August.

“Fuel for Life” Release Schedule:

“Fuel for Life / Blake Hansen

  • Blake Hansen is a gravity-fed, speed-loving mountain biker. Growing up transgender in the 90s, Blake Hansen struggled to express herself without the fear of judgement. Bikes became her tool for freedom, and her relationship with bikes became the one honest connection she had. Blake takes great pride in being a representative for women and the LGBTQ+ community in mountain biking and the outdoors.

“Fuel for Life / Trevor Fuchs

  • In his 20s, Trevor Fuchs was out of shape and smoked cigarettes daily. Now 38, Trevor is an accomplished plant-based ultrarunner, having won the Wasatch 100 twice, winning the Hurt 100 in 2020 and setting a new FKT on Moab’s White Rim in November 2021.

“Fuel for Life / Sam Elias

  • Born and raised by a Syrian immigrant father and a polish mother in Detroit, Sam Elias climbs everything from high alpine summits (like Everest … twice), Yosemite big walls and technical sport and ice climbs. And Sam’s accomplishment’s range further than rock or ice. He has designed some of his own tattoos, the Beyond the Wall line of clothing for The North Face, and the Find Your Pack T-shirt for Gnarly Nutrition.

“Fuel for Life / Alvin Garcia

  • Born in Guatemala City, DACA recipient Alvin Garcia migrated with his family to the United States in the late ’90s. Now residing in Salt Lake City, Alvin is a routesetter at The Front Climbing Club and spends his free time climbing, running and cycling … usually with a few friends by his side.
