When it comes to the topic of employment, there’s a perennial question among both managers and staff at climbing gyms: What are others in the industry paying, or earning, for our work?
Attempts have been made over the years to provide a data-backed answer to that question, but so far a comprehensive survey for anyone working at a climbing gym has not existed in our industry.
That’s why CBJ is excited to partner with Expensive Boulders on this first-of-its-kind industry survey of compensation. It’s been on our roadmap at CBJ for years, and a recent informal poll at @expensiveboulders generated a response that inspired us to seek more data. Our goal is to learn industry standards for compensation in order to help all parties have a more equitable workplace.
If you receive a regular paycheck from a climbing gym, we want to hear from you by December 31st. Please share this with your peers so we get a robust response!
This survey is not for staff at brands or suppliers.
PRIVACY PLEDGE: we will not release any details in our reporting that can be tracked back to any specific facility or individual.
