Professional climber Carlo Traversi has announced the creation of a new bouldering gym company called The Boulder Field. Tapping into what the company calls “underserved markets” Traversi is planning to open two new bouldering-only gyms in Sacramento, California, and Sonoma County, California. After a year of planning and extensive site searches, the Company is targeting openings for each facility in the summer 2017.
Each gym, with an average of 25,00 total square feet, will offer approximately 10,000 square feet of climbing wall area, a climber training area, a fitness area with a variety of cardio and muscle development options, a yoga/dance studio, full men’s and women’s locker room areas, meeting and lounge areas, and a broad array of training and other classes.
Traversi, President of The Boulder Field, wrote in a press release, “We are thrilled to finally announce these exciting gyms projects. After a long, thorough, and sometimes painful search for appropriate sites, we have finally signed leases, secured financing, and assembled a team of the best architects, contractors, wall builders, mat makers, and operators.”
Mr. Traversi, a native of Sonoma County, added, “We look forward to delivering among the best user experiences to climbers and their families in these great communities. I have literally grown up in climbing gyms, and have a clear vision of the ideal gym environment.”
