Boise, ID — July 21, 2026 — Asana Climbing has announced the successful completion of its largest custom flooring installation to date at Vertical World’s new Seattle climbing gym expansion.

Vertical World recently opened a 50,000 square-foot expansion across the street from its Magnolia location in Seattle Washington. It boasts a world class bouldering gym for its general membership, as well as the Nation’s largest youth-only climbing facility, dedicated to VW’s renowned competitive youth team, and expansive youth programs and camps, dubbed “The Vertical World Youth Climbing Center”. As part of the project, Asana installed approximately 16,000 square feet of custom bouldering flooring throughout the facility.

Developed in collaboration with Germany-based Benky Climbing, the landing system features a dual-density foam design engineered for performance and durability. Every section of foam is precision cut, custom fit, and bonded into a continuous unit before being covered with welded 32-ounce PVC and premium sport carpet. Hidden joint layers create a completely seamless appearance while maintaining the integrity of the landing system.

The scale of the project required five shipping containers of materials and approximately three weeks of on-site installation.

“This was our biggest and proudest project to date,” said Jamey Sproull, Owner and Principal of Asana Climbing. “Seeing the system come together inside one of the country’s premier climbing gyms was incredibly rewarding for our entire team.”

The partnership between Asana and Benky Climbing began in 2022 after Sproull met Benky founder Christian Benky at a climbing industry trade show in Pittsburgh. The two companies established a licensing agreement allowing Asana to offer Benky’s engineered flooring system throughout North America for select projects where its unique design advantages are the best fit.

Before pursuing larger installations, the companies partnered on a pilot project at Vertical View Climbing Gym in Meridian, Idaho, near Asana’s Boise-area manufacturing headquarters.

“That first installation gave us the opportunity to fully understand the system and refine our installation process,” said Sproull. “It was an invaluable experience that prepared us for projects on this scale.”

Following the successful pilot, Asana began actively promoting the flooring system and was selected for the Vertical World expansion. While the Seattle project required several years of planning before construction began, Sproull believes the outcome justified the wait.

“Seeing it finally come together made every bit of the process worthwhile,” he said.

Installation began on May 15, 2026, and was completed in time for Vertical World’s soft opening during the second week of June.

The completion of the Vertical World project represents another milestone in Asana’s continued growth as a manufacturer of custom climbing gym landing systems. With installations now serving climbing facilities across the United States and an expanding international partnership with Benky Climbing, Asana continues to invest in innovative flooring solutions that enhance both safety and the climbing experience.
