The Circuit, a bouldering gym company based in Portland, Oregon will open its fourth location in Bend, Oregon in early 2019. The facility will be The Circuit’s first-ever ground up facility and clock in at around 20,000 square feet.
“The Circuit has always taken pride in hand-crafting our gyms. From the climbing walls, to the flooring, to the custom doors and bathrooms, we build our gyms ourselves. With this approach, we can bring mindfulness to our operations through recycled and sustainable building materials,” their press release stated.
The press release went on to state, “The Bend gym will champion this effort, starting with a green building design. Through the use of responsible materials such as soy-based resins and foams, we can avoid many of the toxic and destructive practices that make indoor climbing gyms quite contrary to the beautiful natural environments we climb in.”
