Portland, OR – July 8, 2024 – EP Climbing is proud to announce that members of the U.S. Olympic climbing team have trained at Portland Rock Gym (PRG) Beaverton this past weekend. The athletes trained on the Titan Boulder, an exact replica of the Olympic Bouldering Wall for Paris 2024. This world-class indoor climbing facility was built by EP Climbing, and the Titan Boulder was created in partnership with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC). Its breakthrough design offers a maximum range for route setting, optimal viewing angles, and caters to both international competitors and amateur climbers.
The Titan Boulder has been the stage for numerous prestigious events, including the IFSC World Championships in Bern 2023, the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Pan American Games Santiago 2023, Asian Olympic Qualifier in Saudi Arabia, and the Asian Youth Championships 2023 in India. There are only 22 Titan Walls globally, and PRG houses to the only one in the United States.
EP Climbing has a long-standing relationship with Portland Rock Gym, which established itself as a pioneer in modular climbing gyms in 1988, becoming the second in the U.S. PRG is now the oldest indoor climbing gym in the country. Fast forward to 2023, PRG unveiled phase one of a colossal 64,000-square-foot facility at Cedar Mill’s Peterkort Towne Square, poised to be the nation’s largest climbing gym, featuring the first Titan Boulder in the U.S.
“We are thrilled to support climbers by providing them with the best possible training environment,” said JoAnne Carelli, Sales Director of EP Climbing. “The Titan Boulder at PRG will help athletes prepare for the challenges they will face in numerous climbing competitions.”
The climbing community eagerly anticipates the Paris 2024 Olympics, taking place from August 4-11, 2024. We look forward to cheering on Team USA and all other climbing athletes as they compete on sport’s biggest stage.
