Role & Responsibilities
Operations Staff run the front desk and keep the facility operating smoothly. As the first touchpoint for visitors, you play a crucial role in creating immaculate vibes; you’re surprising and delighting people by remembering their names, wishing them a happy birthday (on the right day), or asking about their session. There will be long lines and busy times, but we always treat folks with respect and dignity and do our best to help.
- Greet and assist visitors
- Efficiently handle check-ins, admission, and retail transactions
- Occasionally close out the register and follow cash handling procedures
- Process new memberships, renewals, and cancellations, and perform routine administrative tasks such as data entry
- Learn and understand our offerings, directing people to the best options for their needs and goals, including admission, membership, coaching, and programs
- Understand or willing to learn and explain how to properly use training equipment
- Maintain organized and tidy front desk and retail areas
- Perform cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms, changing rooms, and equipment
- Conduct frequent walk-throughs to monitor and maintain safety and cleanliness and engage with people
- Solve, report, and/or escalate safety and maintenance issues
- Assist with executing events, as needed
- Occasionally open and close the facility, following security and safety procedures
- Hold CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain
- Experience working in a gym, climbing gym, or climbing wall is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems (Approach Climbing Gym Management software is a plus) or comfortable learning new software
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and sometimes under pressure
- Comfortable engaging with people you don’t know from different walks of life
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive work environment
