    The Gravity Vault is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Brick, NJ location. We are located in Ocean County in New Jersey. Candidates should have management experience in climbing or other related industries, uphold the Gravity Vault mission of creating a positive and friendly atmosphere for employees and climbers, and be detail oriented.

    About Us: The Gravity Vault Brick opened in November 2020.  The Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gyms’ mission is to make everyone’s rock climbing experience with us a positive and memorable one! We strive to provide a welcoming environment for everyone young and old, big and small, novice and expert, to challenge themselves each day. The Gravity Vault wants each person who walks through our doors to believe that new heights can always be reached, in all aspects of life.

    Who We Are Looking For: The Assistant Manager reports to the Gym Manager to assist in the overall gym operations including overseeing the day-to-day operations, inspiring and leading the team, operating independently while maintaining company quality standards.  A visible member of our customer service team, ensuring great customer experiences.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Reports to the Gym Manager and shares the weekly management of the the day-day operations of the climbing gym.  Works a four day work week. This includes:

    • Overseeing a safe, well maintained, industry relevant, clean and bright environment for customers and staff.
    • Overall responsibility and priority on building lasting customer relationships.
    • Hiring, training, scheduling and supervising staff.
    • Oversee gym maintenance and route setting.
    • Oversee purchasing and merchandising inventory.
    • Oversee social media marketing personnel.

    Applicant Qualifications:

    • Previous management experience in climbing or other related service industries.
    • Rock gym leadership experience preferred.
    • Must have experience in managing staff and customers.
    • Flexible schedule, ability to work evenings/weekends/special events. Typical four day work week including one weekend day, with three days off – full time position.
    • Enjoys working in a fun, fast paced service environment: capable of staying calm, making quick decisions, and delicately managing customer and staff interactions.
    • Needs to be detail oriented and organized.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • The ideal candidate will have a balance of great customer service and leadership skills as well as excellent marketing / customer outreach skills.
