GYM MANAGER

Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in managing the overall operation of the gym. As the Gym Manager you will oversee daily operations in the facility and manage the gym’s staff. As the face behind the desk of The Gravity Vault you are one of the primary points of contact for any groups or events held at the facility. You believe in The Gravity Vault’s mission, and want to share the sport of rock climbing with everyone who walks through our doors.

Job Responsibilities Include:
Ensure company and brand wide standards are met and all employees comply with policies and procedures.
Train Instructors and Shift Leaders.
Provide excellent customer service to all of the customers over the telephone.
Be the on site expert on all programs and options to climb with The Gravity Vault.
Oversee and plan staffing for events, classes and instructor led climbing options.
Retail management including stock and inventory.
Participating in hiring, performance reviews and dealing with employee issues.
Ensure the cleanliness and functioning of the facility.
Manage incident reporting, safety reviews, and emergency situations.
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstratable leadership and management experience.
Strong organizational skills.
Willingness to be hands on.
Experience using POS Systems preferred.
Flexible schedule – ability to work some early mornings, nights and Holidays.
Prior management experience in climbing gym or other fitness facility preferred.
2+ years climbing experience preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification is required.
