MARKETING MANAGER | Full-time

Climb So iLL is an indoor rock climbing gym with locations in St. Louis and St. Charles, Missouri. Our small team is passionate about the community we serve. Marketing the gym is a unique opportunity to bring people together and create lasting relationships around climbing. We build these connections in a highly collaborative and supportive work environment.

In this upper-management position, you will promote the gym’s products and services across a variety of platforms. You will develop strategies for growth in our current market and new ones using a combination of email marketing, social media outreach, and print and digital advertising. You will also work with our marketing contractor to create branding, manage our websites, and run digital ads. Candidates should be self-motivated, organized, creative, and capable of handling a variety of projects at once to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create strategies for marketing campaigns, including sales (e.g. membership and holiday sales) and events (e.g. So iLL Showdown and the Bouldering Series).
• Design promotional materials (brochures, flyers, signage, branded products, social posts, etc.) and make sure all in-gym signage is up to date.
• Develop and post engaging content on social media.
  Interact with followers on social media and respond to messages and comments.
• Design, develop, and send email marketing campaigns.
  Create and manage digital ads for sales initiatives.
• Maintain inventory of promotional print materials and place orders when needed.
• Research competitors and industry leaders to stay current with similar services.
• Identify new sources of prospective customers.
• Plan and coordinate photo and video shoots. Professional camera equipment is provided by Climb So iLL.
• Ensure all marketing materials are high-quality and adhere to Climb So iLL’s brand identity.
• Regularly collaborate with third-party marketing contractors on design projects, website updates, media creation, and other needs.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to create both print and digital marketing materials that engage, inform, and motivate.
• Experience developing and sending email marketing campaigns that adhere to best practices.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation as well as composition, editing, and proofing.
• Knowledge of current social media platforms and trends.
• Highly creative, motivated, and organized.
• Sufficient knowledge of indoor climbing to understand our community members and the significance of climbing in their lives
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn more about climbing.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting salary range $50,000-$60,000 based on experience
• Paid personal time off and sick leave.

Hours and Availability

• Full-Time
• Occasional weekend and evening availability is required.
• This position requires in-office work and occasionally involves supporting the front-of-house team.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable and confident working closely with teammates in an open office and busy gym environment.
• Visual acuity sufficient to inspect essential safety details such as harness buckles, knots, and belay techniques from a moderate distance.
• Ability to continuously stand and walk on unstable and uneven surfaces for long periods.
• Ability to balance, kneel, pull, push, and grasp objects as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel approximately 30 minutes between locations.
