    The youth program and teams coach is a strong leader in the BlocHaven community; demonstrating dedication to youth athletes and overall climbing education within our programs. They will work with our head coach and team of coaches to help develop our young athletes, both competitively and non-competitively while creating lifelong climbers along the way.

    Qualifications:
    – Passionate and motivated to coach youth athletes, both competitively and non competitively
    – Superb Communication Skills, Ability to professionally communicate to coaches, athletes and parents both written and verbally.
    – Exceptional understanding of climbing and movement
    – Advanced understanding of training methodology for youth and adults
    – Current USA Climbing Coaching Membership; Level 2 Preferred
    Safe Sport + First Aid/CPR Cert
    – Ability to travel for competitions and events
    – Minimum 2 years experience of coaching youth athletes
    – Ability to take initiative, follow instructions and problem solve effectively.

    Primary Job Duties:
    – Work with our coaching team to facilitate the daily instruction to the competitive and non-competitive youth teams, respectively.
    – Work with our coaching team to help sustain the core values of the BlocHaven and the youth program while maintaining an environment of acceptance and welcome for all athletes.
    – Consistently demonstrate positive leadership and professionally represent the youth program at BlocHaven
    – Assist Head Coach, as needed, with organizational and administrative tasks
    – Maintain a high level of professional communication with coaches, athletes and members
    – Creatively problem solve, as needed, when issues arise such as, but not limited to: communication conflicts, space/resource constraints, etc.
    – Work with coaching team to continually improve the youth program and to enhance each athletes experience
    Follow and enforce gym rules and risk management policies

    – Be an advocate and ambassador for all climbing, indoors and outdoors, helping educate youth athletes on healthy practices
