Photo Essay: Volcanic Rock Gym

Unreal Hawaii has a great photo essay of the construction and opening of Volcanic Rock Gym, a new bouldering gym in Honolulu owned by Justin Ridgely.
Justin, a former carpenter, built the rock climbing walls by hand with the help of several volunteers from the Hawaii rock climbing community. The place was built fast. Like, in under a month.

Asana Purchases The Front

The Boise Weekly reports that the ASANA, the Boise-based climbing pad manufacturer, has purchased The Front climbing gym in Garden City, just outside of Boise, Idaho. With the purchase the 6,500 square foot bouldering gym has been renamed the Asana Climbing Gym.
Manger Jon Albright and Russell Long are working on small revaps to the bouldering gym, but Albright said they’re taking things slowly … and plans call for putting a greater focus on retail, offering—no big surprise—Asana products. “This will be an Asana outlet,” Albright said of the gym, which he hopes will be a key part of Boise’s climbing community.
