Website Administrator ( WordPress)

Job brief

We are looking for a passionate and qualified WordPress Website Administrator. The successful candidate will take over development of our new custom-built website, help us implement new functionality, and provide ongoing routine maintenance. This role would pick up the project mid-development. We have a roadmap of new features, some are nearly ready, some haven’t been started yet, it will be an ongoing project for years, we don’t ever expect to be “done”.

• Location: Remote
• Type of Job: Part time, contractor
• Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications, at least $50/hr with a minimum monthly base salary

Responsibilities

• Step into project mid-development, working directly with current developer to learn status on features
• Evaluate current status and roadmap and advise on best path(s) forward
• Proactively seek out solutions to our technical challenges, always keeping good user experience in mind
• Work with management to establish realistic roadmap deadlines and work to meet them
• Complete features that are currently in development, and implement new features
• Handle routine server maintenance including theme and plugin updates
• Fix problems when the arise

Desired Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a WordPress Website Administrator with custom themes
• Fluent writing HTML, CSS, JS and PHP
• Experience with our key plugins: MemberPress, Gravity Forms, FacetWP, Advanced Custom Fields, WP All Import/Export, miniOrange SSO, MonsterInsights, Yoast SEO
• Experience customizing integrations between theme and plugins to produce unique and original functionality – backend development
• Strong customer service orientation
• Past experience with climbing gyms or brands is a plus
