Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Gym Operations (Colorado) is responsible for ensuring Movement’s mission, vision and values are embodied in their district or region. They ensure Movement gyms have an extraordinary member, guest and team member experience by supporting and guiding gym directors, and through them, implementing tactical strategies that achieve department and company goals. The Sr. Director plays an important role in sharing and reinforcing who we are and the “why” within their district.

The Sr. Director reports to the VP – Gym Operations and will be based out of the gyms in their district/region. Sr. Directors partner, both individually and as a group, with teams across our organization to develop gym priorities and create tactical resources for our gyms. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team in a fast-paced, high-volume business, will have a balance of great customer service and leadership skills, and excellent administrative abilities. Proven success in developing and managing a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment and the ability to see the big picture as well as the everyday details are essential to be a successful Sr. Director. We’re looking for someone who can be part of a highly collaborative team and also think and execute independently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, hires, develops and mentors a service-oriented, collaborative, passionate team of leaders in their district
  • Provides leadership and direction to all directors, and through them Movement team members, in alignment with our mission, vision and values.
  • Accountable for the operations and budget for their district/region and the gyms within, while maintaining operational consistency and effectiveness; empowers Gym Directors to be accountable and responsible for their individual gym operations and budget
  • Leads change effectively, by initiating and implementing processes, protocols and procedures to ensure the gyms run in an effective and service-oriented manner while meeting financial targets and other company goals.
  • Partners with other Sr. Directors and cross-departmentally on projects and to develop tactical resources and ensure alignment between all Movement gyms to achieve department or company goals
  • Provides clear direction, perspective and feedback on daily happenings and is a conduit for information between their district/region and Movement leadership
  • Effectively guides development, communication, and execution of a compelling vision; gains support and buy-in through effective communication and by fostering an environment that actively encourages all to contribute opinions and ideas
  • Ensures the Director teams are supported and through them, the gym runs smoothly: each location all administrative needs are met, all team members are well-trained and supported, and our members and guests’ experiences are awesome, gyms are meeting targets and goals.
  • Leads with humility by demonstrating a strong self-awareness and a willingness to seek input, partner with others and actively gives and listens to constructive feedback
  • Leans heavily on our customer experience philosophy, reinforcing and embodying Movement’s culture in all gyms
  • Works proactively to build relationships in the community to drive membership growth and retention
  • Leads by example, connecting with directors and staff, and has a regular presence in the gyms in their district/region
  • Partners with Directors to create a diverse gym community that acknowledges individual perspective and is reflective of the surrounding communities

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years operations experience leading a fast-paced, high-performing, customer experience-oriented environment, including operational oversight, as well as budget and people management required
  • 2+ years multi-site/regional operations experience required
  • Strongly prefer CLIMBING experience
  • Significant experience with managing large teams and direct supervision of managers/leaders. Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a strong community, build a positive workplace culture for team members at all levels, and develop future leaders
  • Embodies Movement’s mission, vision and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team as well as independently, juggling competing priorities and meeting deadlines, while ensuring actions are aligned with Movement’s mission, vision, values, and goals
  • Demonstrated ability to hold themselves and others accountable, operate with integrity, make sound judgements and partner to find solutions where needed
  • Proficient in or ability to become proficient in organizational tools such as web-based applications, MS Office, Asana, and POS tools
  • Schedule & Presence:
    • Ability to provide consistent presence in region’s gyms by working from gyms daily, including regular presence during weeknight peak hours. Ability to flex schedule to attend events.
    • Uses their district gyms regularly for climbing, working out and yoga, including during peak hours such as weeknights and weekends.
    • Able to travel between all gyms in district/region and adjust schedule when needed to meet the needs of gyms in their district.

Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000 base (plus bonus potential)

This position is a full-time, exempt position with flexible time off (FTO), health insurance benefits, and 401k + match after meeting eligibility requirements.
