The Doylestown Rock Gym is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team! We are looking for someone who has a passion for teaching climbing, leading outdoor trips, and helping with guide program operations. This position will operate both indoors and outdoors based on the season.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three-years’ experience in the climbing industry or equivalent in personal climbing experience.
- CWI certification or ability to obtain certification with lead endorsement within 90 days of employment.
- Possess current First Aid and CPR certifications for indoor and outdoor environment or acquire training with 30 days of employment.
- SPI preferred or skills are assessment ready
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act independently on tasks as well as contribute to a team driven environment.
PRIMARY OUTDOOR DUTIES
- Independently lead group and private trips to bouldering, top rope and sport climbing areas
- Conduct excursions for in-house programs and summer camp
- Assist with administrative tasks and scheduling
- Maintain outdoor gear
- Assist with and/or conduct development of staff
- Assist with local crag stewardship
PRIMARY INDOOR DUTIES
- Instruct youth and adult level classes
- Conduct monthly member clinics
- Assist with staff training and mentoring of program assistants and belay staff
COMPENSATION
- Full-time hourly, non-exempt
- Base Salary of $16-$20 per hour based on experience
