Apex Climbing Gym is a growing climber-owned and -operated bouldering gym located in Mishawaka, Indiana that is nearing its second birthday in early June. We have a 15,000 square foot facility with 7,000 square feet of bouldering including a Tension Board II and other training boards, fitness equipment, and a gear shop.
We know that climbing can transform lives, bringing communities together in unexpected and positive ways. We are seeking someone to manage day-to-day operations to help us continue to transform lives. The actual position itself is around half-time, but can be combined with additional responsibilities to become more than half-time. As a small and one-off gym this position includes a bit of everything: managing front desk staff; programming oversight; active collaboration with coaches, marketing, retail, and facilities; and being a valued member of the management team as well as the climbing communities.
We are seeking a reliable go-getter to manage our facility starting May 2025. An Apex Climbing Gym Operations Manager leads by example, has fine-tuned people skills, embodies integrity, and interfaces with staff, other managers, and owners equally well. They are passionate about creating the best indoor bouldering experience for all types of climbers and a great working environment for our staff.

Experience
Our ideal candidate has:
- At least three years of organizational management experience
- At least three years of rock climbing experience (indoor and/or outdoor)
- At least a high school degree, but a four-year college degree is preferable

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and is more than just monetary. We value work/life balance. That said, time off needs to be collaboratively planned with the management team. Monetary compensation $25 – $30 hourly or equivalent as salary; includes 401(k).
