We are a climber-owned and operated company that has been a staple in the Southeast for over 10 years with 8 facilities spanned across 3 states. We are looking for a skilled routesetter to join our team and work across three of our climbing facilities in the Chattanooga area. (Downtown Chattanooga, Riverside, and Cleveland)
As a routesetter, you’ll have the opportunity to bring your creativity to life for climbers of all ability levels. This role offers a unique chance to set at multiple gyms with varying terrain and resources while contributing to the growth of our local climbing communities.
Minimum Experience
- Be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
- Be comfortable setting/climbing boulders and rope routes
- Be comfortable climbing a minimum V5/5.11 in a variety of styles
- Be able to give and receive feedback to a diverse team with the goal of creating the best product for the community.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of setting experience
- USAC certifications
- Understanding of commercial and competition routesetting theory
- Proficiency of rope systems/ work at height
- Routesetting management experience
- Ability to forerun V9/5.13 in a variety of styles
- Previous setting or coaching for youth teams and/or youth competitions
Responsibilities:
- Day to day setting and forerunning: 3-6 boulders/ 1-4 routes per set
- Excel at communicating with setting team members
- Demonstrate advanced time management and efficient workflow
- Log boulders and routes in tracking software
- Set comps, both USAC events and local events
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization
- Excellent understanding of workplace risk management
- Contribute to aspects of wall maintenance
Compensation and Perks
- Hourly $11-18. Starting pay commensurate with experience
