Summary

The Head Routesetters functions as the leader of the route setting team to create enjoyable routes and boulders for climbers of all experience levels. The Head Routesetters is expected to lead the team in setting interesting, thought provoking, and challenging boulders that are not overly restrictive or inhibitive for the climber. The Head Routesetters is responsible for managing route setting staff, managing route and hold inventory, and climbing wall related projects while working in collaboration with managers to ensure consistent membership growth by providing a high quality experience for climbers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct oneself with integrity, honesty, and good character at all times
Lead routesetting team in efficiently set routes and boulders for all climbing abilities that meet Latitude’s quality standards
Uphold safety standards and best practices as stated in the Latitude Routesetting Manual
Attends all scheduled setting meetings
Maintain employee motivation and job satisfaction via dynamic leadership and support.
Communicate with staff to understand and support company goals and objectives.
Maintain discipline and professionalism among staff.
Ensure staff quality through assessment and evaluation.
Keep the setters closet(s) clean, tidy and organized
Maintain a positive work environment
Be able to climb V7/5.12b
Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to the Director of Routesetting and fulfills all assignments and tasks assigned by upper management. Assists and works in conjunction with Front Desk, Coaches, Instructors and Management to support the facility.
