Management position, reporting to the General Manager, leading a group of part-time coaches

Coordinate with management to ensure teams needs are being met

Building, maintaining, managing, and coaching Recreational and Competitive Youth Climbing Teams

Assist with the creation, development and execution of some adult-focused programming
-
20-30 hours per week; can be supplemented with other roles to reach full time hours
-
Starting pay rate: $22.50 – $24.50 depending on experience

Eligible for health insurance with significant company contribution toward premiums, provided an average weekly clock of at least 30 hours for at least 12 weeks

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years leading a competitive climbing team

Minimum of 2 years of USAC coaching experience

Extraordinary people and communication skills, ability to work cohesively within a team.

Must be able to both receive and provide constructive feedback in a professional and respectful manner

Strong organizational skills

Skilled at bringing the best out in youth climbers while maintaining a fun, safe, and healthy environment that nurtures a long term love of climbing

Clear background check

Capable of understanding, following and teaching the SafeSport codes of conduct and reporting procedures

Experience with recognizing and reducing overall risk & liability
FUNCTIONS
With the objective of cultivating and growing Recreational and Competitive Youth Climbing Teams:

Develop and maintain a practice/training curriculum with specific focus on preparing young athletes for recreational enjoyment and competition success

Communicate and manage program needs and competitive events, keeping in mind budgetary and other parameters.

Lead several weekly practice/training sessions

Lead a robust communication schedule with team members and their parents
-
Actively manage to USAC standards and rules
-
Assist in the hiring, training, and mentorship of part-time coaching staff

Schedule and lead team tryouts and team member selection
