Hourly Position: $16 / hour (Starting rate)
Reports to: Shift Manager then Director of Operations
The Edge Rock Gym believes that rock climbing isn’t just an activity, it’s a communal experience. The Edge Rock Gym – Jacksonville is home to 8,500 sq ft of climbing: bouldering, lead, top rope, and auto belay. In addition to rock climbing, we offer general fitness, instruction classes, and youth programming.
General Employee
As a General Employee at The Edge Rock Gym, you will be responsible for fostering a friendly, organized customer experience. Your focus will be to provide excellent customer service, ensure safety standards in the climbing area are met, and ensure you are proactive in finding and accomplishing tasks.

- Wear appropriate attire when on shift

General Employee Responsibilities:
- Follow company safety protocols and best practices at all times
- Arrive 15 minutes before the time scheduled to open the facility or assist with shift changeover
- Strive to achieve a facility cleanliness level that is higher than our competitors in the region and maintain it
- Restock retail items throughout the shift as needed
- Greet customers when they enter the facility and thank them as they leave
- Efficiently process customer transactions
- Give thorough orientation to new customers
- Ensure the safety of customers inside the facility
- Complete items on the daily and weekly cleaning list each shift
- Bring unknown questions to your Shift Manager, don’t assume a policy or process
- Make appropriate changes to customer’s accounts
- Encourage customers to sign up for our Trial Membership
- Encourage customers to sign up for competitions
- Communicate with customers while on shift about sales and upcoming events
- Ensure all guests feel welcome
- Be able to effectively operate Rock Gym Pro (RGP)

Weekdays: 11am-4pm & 4pm-10pm
Saturdays: 9am-4pm & 12pm-5pm & 4pm-10pm
Sundays: 11am-7pm
The shift times listed above are to provide an idea of necessary availability. While you won’t be expected to work every shift, these times are concrete for the start and finish of shifts.
