SUMMARY //
The Facilities Manager ensures all aspects of gym operations at the Salt Lake and South Main locations run efficiently by managing maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements. This role blends hands-on facility work with strategic planning, helping sustain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members. Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, IT, security systems, and seasonal infrastructure management. This individual trains and manages the facilities team, maintains vendor relationships, and implements preventive maintenance strategies using company tools. The Facilities Manager enforces SOPs for upkeep and cleanliness while ensuring an exceptional member experience through high operational standards.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES //
- Lead and manage the Facilities Department, ensuring gyms are clean, well-maintained, and safe.
- Oversee and perform maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, IT, and security systems.
- Maintain and service gym infrastructure, including swamp coolers, natural gas heaters, and fitness equipment.
- Develop and execute a structured maintenance schedule utilizing company tools and software.
- Train, supervise, and support facilities staff with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Manage contractor and vendor relations for specialized facility needs.
- Maintain accurate logs of facility inspections, repairs, and ongoing improvements.
- Enforce SOPs for cleaning, maintenance, and facility operations.
- Oversee seasonal needs such as winterization, snow removal, and temperature control.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address facility concerns proactively.
REQUIREMENTS //
- A minimum of five years of professional experience, which may include a combination of workforce experience, higher education (college/university), or trade school training with at least 3 years in facilities maintenance and 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in general maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience with fitness equipment maintenance preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage urgent maintenance issues.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service abilities.
- Capable of working independently and responding flexibly to after-hours emergencies.
- Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Punctual, reliable, and proactive with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally; frequent standing, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work cross functionally to enhance the customer experience, recognizing that customer satisfaction is a company-wide effort.
- Proven ability to prioritize customer needs while decision-making and problem-solving to ensure a positive experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT //
This position operates in a dynamic gym setting, requiring frequent movement, including walking, standing, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy objects. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, cleaning chemicals, and noise from gym equipment and patrons. The role involves handling tools, machinery, and maintenance supplies to perform repairs, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure overall facility cleanliness and safety. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities to address urgent maintenance needs. Work will also be performed in the office to organize the work via software tools, plan out projects, and report progress on work being performed
Wage: $65k-$70k
